Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay was born on August 24 1972 at Long Beach California. DuVernay received support from her Aunt Denise as a little girl. Aunt Denise worked in the evening shifts as a nursing assistant, so she could indulge her passion for art literature and theater during the day. DuVernay quickly fell in love after showing her the 1959 West Side Story film. DuVernay saw how art was a powerful tool to promote the cause of activism. DuVernay grew up with her mother who was socially aware and showed her how to use the arts as a means of expressing herself. While DuVernay was raised within Compton with her family she was a summer resident in Lowndes County Alabama where her parents lived for many generations. DuVernay's dad recalled the civil rights marches across the Edmund Pettus Bridge and the close-by town Selma in Alabama. DuVernay would use her summers in Alabama to inspire her future film, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay graduated with a graduation certificate at Saint Joseph High School, Lakewood California in 1990. In the year 1990 she completed her studies at the Saint Joseph High School located in Lakewood California. DuVernay began producing television news at the age of a student. She worked as a CBS News intern during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay remembers being given the task of watching the home and looking through the waste belonging to one of juries. The work she was assigned to did not leave her satisfied by journalism and she decided to shift her focus towards the industry of public relations. DuVernay was employed by a tiny studio as a junior publicist right after college. She founded The DuVernay Agency, her PR firm, in 1999. Her agency launched numerous promotional and lifestyle networks that include Urban Beauty Collective and Urban Eye. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Her birth name is . She is a performer, well-known for her roles in American Experience (1987) and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn was in the role of Rose as well as Anna Payne for A More Perfect Union.
